76 Place To Cost 13 Billion

New Stadium Planned for Philadelphia

76 Place to Cost $1.3 Billion

Projected to Provide $1.9 Billion in Economic Benefit

Plans for a new privately-funded stadium in Philadelphia have been announced. The stadium, to be called 76 Place, will house the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association. The estimated cost of the project is $1.3 billion, with an anticipated economic benefit to the city of $1.9 billion.

The stadium is expected to be built in Center City Philadelphia, near the current home of the 76ers, the Wells Fargo Center. Wells Fargo Center is consistently ranked among the top ten venues in the United States, but the new stadium is expected to offer a state-of-the-art experience for fans.

Groundbreaking for the new stadium is not expected for several years. Once completed, it will provide a much-needed upgrade for the 76ers, who have played at the Wells Fargo Center since it opened in 1996.
