Religion in Bangladesh
Overview
Bangladesh is a multi-religious country, with four major religions being practiced: Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity. A small number of people also follow other religions such as Sikhism and the Bahai Faith.
Islam
Islam is the dominant religion in Bangladesh, with Muslims constituting 83.4% of the total population. The introduction of Islam to Bengal dates back to the 13th century, when Muslim traders and missionaries from the Middle East established settlements in the region. Hinduism

Sikhism and the Bahai Faith
A small number of people in Bangladesh also follow Sikhism and the Bahai Faith. Sikhism is a monotheistic religion that originated in the Punjab region of India, and the Bahai Faith is a religion that emphasizes the unity of all faiths and the importance of social justice.
