**The two stores will be part of a £150m revamp of the historic street as it targets 1.5m shoppers a year**

Liverpool Street is set to welcome two flagship stores from major retailers Zara and Next, creating over 70 new jobs and attracting an additional 1.5 million shoppers to the area.

The new stores will be part of a £150 million revamp of the iconic street, which has been underway since 2019.

TheZara store, opening in the old BHS building, will be the brand’s largest in the UK outside of London and will create 50 new jobs.

The Next store will be located in the former Debenhams building and will create 21 new jobs.

Both stores are expected to open in autumn 2023.

The redevelopment of Liverpool Street is being led by property developer Hammerson, which owns much of the street.

Hammerson’s head of retail, David Atkins, said: “The arrival of Zara and Next is a major coup for Liverpool Street and a testament to the strength of the retail offer we are creating here.

“These two flagship stores will be a major draw for shoppers and will help to create a vibrant and exciting new retail destination in the heart of London.”

Liverpool Street is one of London’s busiest shopping streets, with over 100 shops, restaurants and bars.

The street is home to a number of flagship stores, including Apple, H&M and Uniqlo.

The revamp of Liverpool Street is part of a wider plan to regenerate the area around Liverpool Street Station.

The plans include the construction of new homes, offices and shops, as well as the creation of a new public square.
